The LGM-1 has pretty much turned into the gun everyone's chasing in Black Ops 7, and once you've used it a bit you get why people even look up things like CoD BO7 Bot Lobby just to speed things up. It hits like an LMG but moves closer to an assault rifle, so you're not stuck waddling round corners every time you aim down sights. The problem is you do not just level it up through normal play. If you want this thing, you've got to put some time into Astra Malorum, and that map's a maze if you go in blind. First run feels rough, later runs feel a bit better, but there are still a few spots that can throw you off if you are not paying attention.

Astra Malorum Atmosphere

Astra Malorum's basically a haunted space station with guns. The lighting flickers, corridors are narrow, and you never quite feel safe turning your back. When the match loads, you do not want to wander aimlessly. Head straight for the main Control Hub in the centre of the station and trigger the terminal there. That kicks off the whole LGM-1 quest. From that point on, you're hunting Data Fragments with almost no help from your HUD. You'll get used to scanning for a faint glow along wall panels or odd outlines that do not match the usual textures. A lot of players miss the panels in side rooms or small maintenance shafts, and those slow you down more than the enemies do.

Finding Data Fragments

The trick with the fragments is to move slower than you normally would in multiplayer. You want to clear a section, then double back and look properly. Most of my runs turned up at least one fragment tucked behind a sliding panel in a corner I nearly ignored. The zero‑gravity sections are where things get messy. You're floating, you're spinning, and some bot's trying to fry you while a fragment drifts past your head. Best way I found was to keep one teammate focused on cover fire while another player grabs the floating fragment. If you're solo, you almost have to bait enemies into one side of the room, thin them out, then quickly push over to snag the glow before it drifts away or you get shot in the back.

Sentinel Boss Fight

Once you've grabbed enough data, the Sentinel can show up, and he never spawns where you actually want him to. Dude's a walking turret, with a laser that deletes you if you stand in the open for more than a second. His shield phase is the part that catches people out. A lot of players panic, dump their whole mag into the shield, and then have nothing ready when it drops. Do the opposite. Stay behind cover, break line of sight, and just chip away at adds until you see that shield flicker off. That's when you and your squad dump everything you've got. Shotguns up close, LMG or LGM‑1‑style guns at mid range, whatever melts fastest. When he finally hits the floor, don't sprint off to chase kills. Grab the Quantum Core straight away or you'll end up repeating the whole fight like an idiot.

Data Upload And Unlock

With the Quantum Core in your pocket, head back to the Control Hub and plug it into the terminal to start the Data Upload event, which is basically a "hold this room or die trying" moment. Every spawn point seems to light up at once, and the timer never feels like it's moving fast enough. Set up claymores or tacticals on the main doors, have one person watching flanks, and keep rotating positions so nobody gets tunnel vision. If you're under‑levelled, this is where things feel unfair and where players start thinking about stuff like a quick CoD BO7 Bot Lobby buy to level faster before coming back. Stick it out, survive until the upload hits full, and the LGM-1 drops into your inventory.
