During a run, a Relentless Butcher appears every wave, and defeating one quickly triggers another spawn. Build choice matters a lot here. Fast, AoE-focused builds perform much better than slower single-target setups. Popular picks include Barbarian builds that clear groups quickly, Pulverize Druids, and Hydra-based Sorcerers. Paladin builds that rely on mobility and repeated attacks can also perform well, since they keep the kill streak going and move between enemies quickly. Rogues using Death Trap or Flurry setups are another strong option because they can burst down Butchers extremely fast, which becomes important when the later waves start spawning enemies near the end of the timer.

XP bonuses make the grind even faster. Incense, Elixirs, and certain Nightmare Sigil affixes can stack together and noticeably increase the amount of experience you gain. Some players also use skills or mechanics that extend kill streak timers between waves, helping maintain the bonus streak multiplier. A common loop is farming Helltides first to progress the seasonal board and get compasses, then running Bloodied Horde Sigils to farm huge XP bursts, and repeating that cycle.

Paragon points are usually spent early on improving damage so you can kill Butchers quickly. After that, many players start investing in mobility and resource generation to keep the runs smooth and fast. By the time you reach higher Paragon levels, boosting attack speed, critical chance, and other offensive stats helps ensure that each Butcher dies in just a few seconds, which keeps the chain of spawns going.

Playing in a group can speed things up even more. Teams often coordinate so one player activates the sigil while the others gather enemies and focus down each Butcher as soon as it appears. When everything lines up, dozens of bosses can be cleared in a single run, and the experience gain becomes much higher than traditional farming methods cheap diablo 4 gear.
